The Secret to Strength: Weaving God's Joy into Your Daily Life

Hey everyone! As a fellow crafter, you know how much a good tool, the perfect surface,
the smoothest paint, the sharpest pair of scissors, can change your whole project. Well,
today I want to talk about the perfect tool for a beautiful life: JOY.
We often think of "joy" as something preachers talk about in the pulpit, but it's meant to
be a daily, messy, hands-on part of our lives.

Joy Isn't Just "Happy"- It's Deeper
The world uses "happy" and "joy" interchangeably, but let's look at the difference,
because this is huge.
"Happy" is like the weather - it depends on your circumstances (Did I have to sit
in traffic today? Did my package arrive on time?). It's based on luck or what
happens to you.
"Biblical Joy" is like the foundation of your home. It's solid, rooted in your
relationship with God, and doesn't crumble when the weather (circumstances)
gets rough. It’s a deep, quiet assurance from the Holy Spirit that says, "You are
loved, and God is faithful" (Galatians 5:22 calls it a Fruit of the Spirit!)
This is why God’s joy is powerful! It’s always available, whether you're celebrating a
big success or dealing with a rough season.
The Dual Power of Joy: Fuel for Every Season
God’s joy has a dual purpose: it’s both the strength we cling to and the fuel we use to
celebrate.
I. Joy as Your Superpower in Tough Times
You know those days when everything goes wrong? The hot glue gun breaks, the paint
spills, or a personal challenge weighs heavy on your heart. That's when we lean on
Nehemiah 8:10: “The Joy of the Lord is your strength.”
It’s Your Resilience: Joy doesn't make the pain go away, but it gives you a
deeper perspective. It helps you breathe through the anxiety and stress,
reminding you that your hope isn't in a perfectly finished project, but in a perfect
God.
It’s Your Anchor: This joy keeps you steady and firm in your faith when trials try
to push you overboard. It's the quiet knowledge that you have a purpose and a
Savior.
II. Joy as Your Appreciation in Good Times
Joy isn't just a survival tool for the trenches, it's meant to magnify the good stuff!
God delights when we enjoy the gifts He gives us, big or small. In fact, the Bible
encourages us to find "fullness of joy"; simply by being close to Him (Psalm 16:11) and
finding "satisfaction in all their toil" as a direct "gift of God" (Ecclesiastes 3:12-13).
When things are going well, joy becomes our:
Deep Thankfulness: It helps us pause, savor the moment, and immediately
credit God for the blessing. We don't take the good seasons for granted!
Fullness of Life: Joy encourages us to be fully present and celebrate those
beautiful milestones—a successful craft fair, a wonderful moment with family, or
simply a quiet cup of coffee (y’all KNOW how much joy I find in my coffee).
How to Blend Joy into Your Daily Life
Joy is a seed planted by the Holy Spirit, but we have to water and tend to it daily. Here
are four simple ways to cultivate that lasting joy:
1. Stop and Talk (Prayer & Worship): Don't just rush through your day. Regularly
spend time with God, focusing on gratitude. Even five minutes of thanking Him
for the little things (coffee, music, our pets, supplies to craft with, ) deepens your
relationship and your joy.
2. Read the Instructions (Scripture): When you feel discouraged, sad, whatever,
intentionally read verses about God’s promises and faithfulness. If you don’t
know where to turn, simply look up “where to find bible verses on
discouragement, sadness etc. The world is at your fingertips with technology, so
no more excuses! The more you focus on Who God is, the less you focus on
what you lack.
3. Count Your Blessings (practicing Thankfulness): Try keeping a simple
Gratitude List on your craft table, or wherever you spend most of your time.
Every time you pause, add one thing you are thankful for. This shifts your focus
from the negative to the abundant goodness of God.
4. Share the Goodies (Serving Others): The fastest way to feel joy is to give it
away! That is exactly why I LOVE serving the Lord on my platforms, and doing
bless-a-ways etc. Engaging in small acts of kindness or using your crafting gifts
to bless someone else fulfills God's command to love and naturally boosts joy in
both you and the receiver.
Conclusion: Crafting a Joyful Life
The joy of the Lord is your constant, most valuable tool. It is the solid, enduring truth
that allows you to face challenges with strength and enjoy blessings with fullness.
It’s time to stop treating joy like a weekend event and start weaving it into the fabric of
your everyday life.

Counting my blessings and serving others is my joy. Being sober for 35 years comes with an attitude of gratitude. I'm going to find 5 new things to be grateful for every day.
One of my service projects is supporting the Wildwood Kitten Haven & NICU. My friend Keri rescues new born and unborn kittens. She does an amazing service to the community because her services free of charge. She only recoups money when someone adopts a kitten. I help her by trapping community cats and getting them spayed or neutered. I make heating pads to keep the newborns warm and lots and lots of blankets. Our newest project is making bags with the necessities for caring for newborn k…
Thank you, Lisa, for this message. Remember when I talked to you about not having joy. I pray, read Scripture, I thank the Lord, and serve. I am missing being mindful when I do these things. I appreciate you being in my life and helping me figure things out. Hope I can be of any assistance to you ❤️
